The collaboration relies on a heavy cross-media communication scheme which sees Habbo Hotel promoted on the various platforms of Groupe M6 and on the hit shows broadcast on its family of channels.
World-renowned talent show X Factor has earned a presence on the virtual community thanks to M6 Web. A TV studio with a specific, dedicated on-air design will entertain the show’s fans on Habbo with quizzes about the programme as well as chats with high-profile figures on the show (the candidates, the judges…).
The Habbo Hotel website, launched in Finland in 2000, is a booming online community. It claims a worldwide total of 200 million accounts created and 18 million unique habbohotel coins visitors. More specifically, in France the site records 1.5 million unique visitors and 13 million French teenagers have registered. All of which translates to a more than satisfactory figure of one subscriber every eight seconds.
